Get A Grip Student Scholarships


If your high school is SPONSORING AT LEAST TWO BLOOD DRIVES FOR THE BLOOD CENTER OF CENTRAL TEXAS during the 2011-2012 school year, you are encouraged to apply for The Center's Get A Grip High School Scholarship Program.

The Blood Center will once again award three $1,000 student scholarships for tuition assistance to eligible high school seniors who will be attending a higher education institution after graduation. These scholarships will recognize students who have shown a commitment to community service and volunteerism through organizing and participating in high school blood drives.

Eligibility Criteria
 
To be eligible to participate, applicants must:
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident.
  • Be currently attending high school with a cumulative 2.5 grade point average or higher.
  • Applicant's high school must sponsor at least two blood drives HOSTED BY THE BLOOD CENTER OF CENTRAL TEXAS within the academic year.
  • Complete the application and essay with 3 typed and signed letters of recommendation from non-relatives (preferably from various entities).

Applicants do not need to be accepted to a school before applying. Proof of enrollment will be required before a scholarship check can be issued.
