What better way to say “Thanks, Mom” for giving you the gift of life than by joining the National Marrow Donor Program Registry. On any given day, 6,000 patients search the Registry for a marrow donor. They hope to find a volunteer donor, like you, who is willing to help them.
Double Point Days
May 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 & 29
June 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 & 22
July 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13
As a Hands of the Donor member, you earn points with each blood donation. Plan to donate on a Double Point Day and rack up points to redeem on the High 5 Online Store. Saving lives & cool merchandise.
Closed on Mother's Day
The Blood Center will be closed on Mother's Day, May 11.
Memorial Day
The Blood Center at 4300 N. Lamar will be open from 8 am to 3 pm on Memorial Day, May 26. Before boating or your backyard barbeque, take the time to save a life.
Heroes for Life Celebration
The Heroes for Life celebration on March 2 honored donors who reached landmark gallon levels in 2007, as well as Level 4 Hands of the Donor Partners. See photos from the event!

Mother's Day Drawing winners!
Congratulations to Beverly Culp, Barbara Hicks, Ed Popp, and Ron Srubar for winning our Mother's Day drawings. Thanks to all four for their blood donation!
Get a Grip Scholarship Winners Announced
Congratulations to this year's three student scholarship recipients!

Kelly Witte from Lockhart High School
Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship at the Get A Grip Awards on June 1. Their essays on "encouraging high schools students to be blood donors for life" will be posted on the website in May.
Central Texas' 2007 50 gallon donors
The Blood Center applauds Central Texas' 2007 (and first) 50 gallon donors! Gary Carter reached the landmark level in May. He was followed by David Anthony, Leon Wegele, Bob Schluter, Bruce Latour and Sam Mihalik.
2007 Level 4 Donors
