Blood & Tissue Center of Central Texas (BTC):

 

Mobile Team Phlebotomist (000312): Responsible for determining donor eligibility, performing phlebotomy techniques, managing adverse donor reactions and maintaining excellent donor relations at blood drives.  Also responsible for set up and take down of blood drive.  The qualified candidate for full time opportunity must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes early mornings and/or late evenings in addition to Saturdays or Sundays. A high school diploma or GED is required.  Requires experience in taking vital signs and /or phlebotomy. Certification in phlebotomy, as a medical assistant, or nursing assistant is a plus.

A high school diploma or GED is required.  Requires experience in taking vital signs and /or phlebotomy. Certification in phlebotomy, as a medical assistant, or nursing assistant is a plus.

 

Surgical Recovery Technician (000560) – Part Time:  Responsible for performing tissue recovery using strict aseptic techniques while following the guidelines set forth by AATB, FDA, and the organization.  Duties include recover / package human tissue, work with a cadaver, and assist in surgical preparation.  Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, prefer Certified Surgical Technician with at least 2 years experience.  Must be able to travel (within Texas), work a flexible schedule including responding to calls as needed.  Must have good availability for training, once released from training must be able to respond to a call at any time during a 72 hour period.

Medical History Interviewer (000310) – Part Time:  Responsible for conducting confidential medical history interviews with potential whole blood and apheresis donors.  Must be proficient in all aspects of the medical history procedure and be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.  A high school diploma or equivalent is required.  Excellent communication skills and customer service skills are essential.  Knowledge of the donation experience and medical terminology are helpful.  Position may require working weekends.

 

Components Technician (000420):  Duties include preparing blood components and performing specialized component preparation techniques in compliance with departmental operating procedures and GMP.  As needed, back up Hospital Services in the packaging and delivery of blood components.  After hours on call rotation is required.  Candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with 6 months experience preferred.  Also prefer familiarity with personal computers and/or blood processing systems, documented experience that demonstrates fine motor skill coordination, and knowledge of AABB, and FDA regulations.  Shift: Tuesday – Saturday from 1pm to 10pm.
