Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas (BTC):
Mobile Team Phlebotomist (000312): Responsible for determining donor eligibility, performing phlebotomy techniques, and managing adverse donor reactions. Also, need to maintain excellent donor relations at blood drives. Responsible for set up and take down of drive. Qualified candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prefer one year experience in taking vitals and/or phlebotomy. Certificate in phlebotomy, medical assisting, EMT, or nursing assistant is preferred and may substitute for experience.
Surgical Recovery Coordinator (000580) – Corpus Christi: Responsible for the management of assigned surgical recovery including donor evaluation, tissue recovery, staff performance, and documentation on all tissue donors. Coordinator also provides technical oversight and training for the surgical recovery staff. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; prefer surgical technician certificate or equivalent 2 years surgical experience. Must have at least 1 years experience in Tissue Banking and be able to become CTBS certified within 1 year of hire. Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance, and acceptable driving record. Also, must be able to lift 250 lbs. with assistance. Applicant will work a work a flexible schedule including on call as needed.
