Blood &Tissue Center of Central Texas (BTC):
Mobile Team Phlebotomist (000312): Responsible for determining donor eligibility, performing phlebotomy techniques, and managing adverse donor reactions. Also, need to maintain excellent donor relations at blood drives. Responsible for set up and take down of drive. Qualified candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prefer 1 year experience in taking vitals and/or phlebotomy. Certificate in phlebotomy, medical assisting, EMT, or nursing assistant is preferred and may substitute for experience.
Surgical Recovery Technician – Part Time (000560): Responsible for performing surgical recovery procedures on tissue donors, adhering to all standards and guidelines, completing recovery documentation, handling sterile equipment, packaging and labeling tissue products, donor reconstruction, and assist in training of other new technicians. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, prefer certificate in Surgical Technician (CST) or 2 years experience in similar environment. 2 years of college education may substitute for certificate and experience. Prefer applicant to be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance, and an acceptable driving record. Must be able to lift 250 lbs with assistance and 50 lbs. without assistance. Applicant needs to be able to work a flexible schedule. On-call shift includes a 72 hour block from Tuesday to Thursday and Friday to Sunday.
Surgical Recovery Support Specialist – Part Time (000560): Responsible for supporting the tissue recovery process by completing all post recovery actions including shipping tissue and specimens, sterilization of instruments and equipment, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prefer 6 months experience in surgical processing, supply technician, CST, or CRCST. Advanced education may substitute for experience. Quality control experience is also preferred. Must be able to lift 30 lbs and work with limited supervision. Position requires working Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8am to noon; Tuesday and Thursday schedule may be flexible.
Medical Technologist – Part Time (000610): Responsible for performing all routine testing, labeling and maintenance functions in lab while complying with policies, procedures, and regulations. Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent, ASCP or NCA Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Blood Bank Technologist (BB), will consider an Associates of Science Degree and certification as an MLT or BB. Must be able to rotate through an on-call schedule and lift 25 lbs. Shift: Saturday and Sunday.
Medical Service Bureau (MSB):
Dispatcher (000110): Purpose is to contribute to high quality level of service by proofing telephone transactions and dispatching those transactions accurately and promptly. Duties include reviewing caller information entered into computer system, dispatching transactions based on account protocols, and processing physician sign-outs/status change forms/and temporary guideline changes. Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of customer service experience, excellent spelling skills, and be able to type 30 wpm. Shift: Wednesday – Sunday 3pm to 12am.
