Provide outstanding customer service to internal/external customers while recruiting and scheduling for the Apheresis Department, thus ensuring the best possible donation experience and working environment. Promptly assist apheresis donors/patients; conduct confidential medical history interviews and vital signs with potential whole blood and apheresis donors to determine eligibility.  Adhere to established quality practices while continually seeking to improve and expand upon work performance and knowledge. A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1-2 years of blood banking or 2 years medical front office experience are required. Certificate as a Medical Assistant is preferred and may substitute for experience

 

Responsible for determining donor eligibility, performing phlebotomy techniques, and managing adverse donor reactions at blood drives around the Austin area. Additional duties include loading/unloading the mobile bus, setting up/taking down the blood drive, and maintaining excellent donor relations. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prefer 1 year experience in taking vitals and/or phlebotomy. Certificate in phlebotomy, medical assisting, EMT, or nursing assistant is desired and may substitute for experience. Qualified applicants must be able to work flexible hours and adhere to a block schedule Sunday to Thursday OR Tuesday to Saturday.

 

 

Responsible for answering inbound calls, taking a short message, confirming information with the caller, and processing calls according to instructional guidelines. Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, customer service experience, excellent spelling skills, and be able to type 30 wpm.
